Address
Saida, Lebanon
In 2018, the Hariri Foundation partnered with members of the School Network of Saida and Neighboring Towns to establish environmental school clubs across local schools: “Eco-Friendly Clubs (EFc)”.
In 2023, more schools were invited to join the initiative by reviving or establishing “Green Ambassadors Clubs (GAC)”, inspired by the Outreach & Leadership Academy’s recently established Green Ambassadors Program. Club members are engaged in the academy’s activities and courses, with new monitoring and evaluation systems in place.
A club manual was published, guiding school communities on establishing and governing clubs within a coherent manner. The foundation organizes recurrent activities to engage club members and supervisors in continuous dialogue and exchange of knowledge as well as joint climate action activities.
Club members are motivated to invest their talents and acquired skills in developing innovative environmental initiatives such as awareness sessions, trainings, and activities in their schools and surrounding neighborhoods. Clubs are also engaged as partners in the “Roadmap of Saida towards an Environmentally Sustainable City” activities and OLA’s environmental experimentation actions.
