Ramadan Nights 2010 – Urban Development Festivals

In 2010, the Hariri Foundation partnered with the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism, the Municipalities of Beirut, Tripoli, Al Mina, and Saida, as well as local banks and civil society actors to organize the Urban Development Festivals celebrating the holy month of Ramadan across different cities. The project aimed at highlighting and showcasing the uniqueness of major Lebanese cities and the role of cultural events in fostering an environment conductive to national unity, social cohesion and partnership amongst various stakeholders. The festivals were promoted as vehicles for economic growth and social change, strengthening the citizens’ sense of belonging to their city.
