Saida, Lebanon
The Health Network of Saida & Neighboring Towns, established by the Hariri Foundation, is a comprehensive platform designed to enhance health system preparedness and foster collaboration among diverse health-related stakeholders in the Saida-Zahrani region.
In partnership with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and the Union of Municipalities of Saida-Zahrani, the network was officially established in 2022 to create a cohesive framework that brings together official, private, and civic institutions to address both chronic and emerging health challenges. With a membership of 267 institutions and hundreds of healthcare professionals, the network seeks to improve the region’s overall health resilience through integrated disaster preparedness, response, and recovery plans, as well as the development of sustainable health policies.
Central to the network’s mission is its focus on building institutional capacity and promoting data-informed health practices. This involves organizing workshops, training programs, and capacity-building activities for member institutions and healthcare workers. In addition to its training initiatives, the network organizes major events such as the annual health conference and scientific health days to strengthen local health system coordination.
Through its broad range of activities, the network not only addresses immediate health challenges but also works toward long-term goals of improving public health systems, creating local solutions for national health issues, and advancing sectoral reforms. By integrating a wide spectrum of health and community stakeholders, the network ensures that the region is better prepared to manage health emergencies, promote health equity, and sustain health improvements across Saida and neighboring towns.
