The Schools Network of Saida & Neighboring Towns (SNS) is a collaborative platform that unites public, semi-private, private, vocational, and UNRWA-affiliated schools across the Saida and Jezzine regions. Established by the Hariri Foundation, the network aims to promote educational justice and the democratization of education. Since its transformation into a formal network in 2004, SNS has grown to encompass 110 educational institutions, serving approximately 55,000 students and 5,000 educators. This growth reflects the network’s transformation into a formal network in 2004, SNS has grown to encompass 110 educational institutions, serving approximately 55,000 students and 5,000 educators. This growth reflects the network’s commitment to fostering partnerships and enhancing educational opportunities in the region.

The network seeks to enable partnerships for development and civic engagement among member schools and their constituents—including administration, teachers, students, parents, and the local community—through joint programs and activities each year. SNS encourages dialogue and coordination on pressing educational challenges, opportunities, and crosscutting domains among member schools. In doing so, the network offers diverse activities designed to build capacity, explore new educational practices, engage staff and students, and promote well-being.

Through SNS, schools work together to share resources, innovative practices, and expertise, overcoming traditional competitive boundaries to create a unified, supportive community. This spirit of collaboration is reflected in the network’s vision to transcend competition and build a culture of inclusivity, continuous improvement, and educational excellence.

The network operates with a clear mission to empower educators, students, and communities by creating an environment of mutual support and knowledge-sharing. By fostering collaboration, SNS enables schools to improve educational standards and outcomes, preparing students to become leaders and contributors to society. SNS also works to enhance the overall quality of education by offering professional development opportunities for educators and organizing joint initiatives that address contemporary educational needs.

Every year, SNS adopts a specific theme that drives the initiatives and projects for the year. These initiatives include creative projects such as murals and exhibitions, capacity-building workshops, student-centered activities, and leadership development programs. The theme-driven approach ensures that all member schools align their efforts toward common goals, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.

SNS is dedicated to ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the network. The network continually evaluates its activities to assess their impact on schools and students, using feedback to refine and improve its strategies. Through a combination of diverse funding sources, ongoing professional development, and strong community partnerships, SNS remains adaptable and forward-thinking, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

By working together and embracing shared responsibility, SNS member schools contribute to a thriving educational ecosystem that benefits students, educators, and the broader community. Through its efforts, SNS continues to make a significant impact on educational practices in the Saida and Jezzine regions, providing a model for other regions to follow.
